Man Charged With Two Counts of Firearm Theft

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars on charges of firearm theft.

Odessa Police tells NewsWest 9 that back on June 19, a victim filed a theft report with Odessa Police and reported that her Beretta Tomcat was stolen from her vehicle, along with a Taurus .38.

Then on July 13, officers were called out to the 1300 block of Sam Houston in reference to a domestic disturbance.

The suspect, later identified as Marcos Morales, 19, barricaded himself inside his home and was later taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct.

Police say Morales was found to be in possession of two firearms, a Beretta Tomcat and a Taurus .38 Special Revolver, both of which were stolen.

Morales has been charged with two counts of theft of a firearm on top of the aggravated assault charge.
