BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - Two teens have been arrested following a burglary of a habitation call on Wednesday night in Big Spring.

Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 2600 block of Ann Drive in reference to the burglary.

When officers arrived on the scene, the victim told police that he had stopped by his parents house to check on something and his parent's weren't home.

According to police, as the victim walked into the home, he came face to face with a man who broke into the home.

That's when a fight began between the suspect and victim.

Officials say a second burglary suspect then came towards the men with a shotgun that belonged to the homeowner.

The second suspect demanded that the victim release the first man and as the victim let go of the first suspect he began struggling for the gun with the second suspect.

The victim was able to get the gun from the second suspect and pumped the shotgun only to find out it wasn't loaded.

The two suspects then ran out the back door and left behind the items that they were going to steal.

The suspects, who were both 16 years old, were later caught nearby the home after another family member followed the two suspects.

Police say that during an interview with the two teens, they learned a third person was inside the home but left before the victim arrived. It was also determined that the suspects planned on hitting three homes in the neighborhood but were caught during the first burglary.

Officials say the third suspect is expected to be arrested soon.
