Renovations Underway at Odessa Animal Shelter

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

The Odessa Animal Shelter is having a number of renovations done this week.

We're told the renovations to the main building are already done and work started on the other building on Tuesday.

The main work completed was re-sealing the kennels to prevent cross contamination and disease control.

That process involved the grinding down of cement, cleaning it, sealing it, painting it and sealing it again.

We're told the renovations will cost around $21,000.

Also before the shelter shut down last week, they adopted out 186 pets.

Officials say they're working to become a no-kill shelter.
