Boy Injured in Suicide Attempt at Comanche Trail Park

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) -

We have an update on the incident that took place in Big Spring on Tuesday morning.

Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to Comanche Trail Park just before noon in reference to an injured child.

An investigation revealed that a 12-year-old Big Spring boy had used a knife to cut himself in the throat.

Officials say the boy was alone and people in the area noticed the boy bleeding from the neck and called police.

Police say it appears to be a suicide attempt.

The boy was taken to the emergency room and later airlifted to a Lubbock Hospital.

His condition is currently unknown and his parents were notified.
