Officials Investigating Deadly Ector County Shooting

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

Ector County Deputies are investigating after a deadly weekend shooting in Ector County.

The shooting happened on Sunday morning just after 7:15 a.m. in the 2600 block of Mockingbird Lane.

Deputies were called out to the home in reference to a “subjects with guns” call.

Police say they were advised that an exchange of gunfire had occurred between one person in a car and a subject inside a fenced area.

We’re told one person got out of the car, approached the fenced area and continued firing.

The man in the fenced area, Marion Edward Archer, 57, was hit by the gunfire and the bullet went through both legs.

Archer was taken to the hospital where he died in surgery.

Officials say no arrests have been made but there is one subject that is considered a primary person of interest.

The motive into the shooting is unknown.
