Two Arrested Following Odessa Disturbance

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Two men were arrested following a disturbance call in Odessa on Tuesday.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 2000 block of West 3rd Street.

Dispatchers reported that two male subjects were attempting to break into a home and that the same two subjects had been involved in a gun call earlier in the day.

When officers arrived on the scene, one of the subjects, later identified as Jesus Valles, 24, immediately began running from police but was caught a short time later.

During questioning, Valles told police he ran because he thought he had warrants.

Police say the second suspect was identified as Oscar Garay, 18.

An investigation revealed that a burglary didn't occur but Garay had an outstanding warrant while Valles had no warrants.

Both men were taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

When Garay arrived, officers found approximately 31 grams of Xanax concealed on him and was additionally charged.

Valles has been charged with evading arrest or detention while Garay was charged with prohibited substance in a correctional facility, possession of a dangerous drug and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
