City of Hobbs: Water Conservation Initiatives Working

HOBBS, NM (KWES) -

The City of Hobbs says two recent water conservation initiatives are working and saving the city money.

The first one was the Veteran's Memorial Complex.

They feature are artificial turf fields on softball and baseball fields and youth football fields.

They say compared to this time last year, they've saved more than 2.8 million gallons of water.

The second is the water conservation period that sets guidelines for outdoor watering for residents.

They say they've seen a five year low in water consumption and a 26 percent decrease from the same time last year.
