The Midland Police Department is looking to earn re-accreditation for the seventh time in a row.
A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation For Law Enforcement Agencies are in Midland this week.
They'll be examining all aspects of the department's policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.
The assessors will also be reviewing written material and talking to different people.
This process will find if the department meets the commission’s state-of-the-art standards for re-accreditation.
Accreditation lasts for three years and Midland Police has earned the high-prized recognition six times in a row since 1993.
