Man Arrested For Evading Arrest

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars on several charges following a possible kidnapping over the weekend.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to University and Bagley and learned that a male subject forced a female into a white Ford SUV before leaving the scene.

Odessa Police say Medical Center Hospital police located the possible suspect in a white Lincoln Navigator but the vehicle also evaded MCH police before crashing in the 400 block of Eidson.

According to the report, the driver got out of the vehicle and began running on foot from Odessa Police as well as MCH Police.

After police set up a perimeter, they found the suspect hiding in the south alley of the 2000 block of West 5th Street.

The man was later identified as Sean Paul Duarte, 25, and according to police, shows signs of heavy intoxication.

Police also found marijuana along with an aluminum pipe containing burnt marijuana residue.

Officers also made contact with the female in the vehicle and reported that she wasn't kidnapped.

Duarte has been charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, evading arrest, possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated.
