Midland Woman Accused of Forging Checks

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

A Midland woman is behind bars after being accused of forging checks.

According to the report, Nona Laforge worked at a tax office for about a year.

The owner told authorities he noticed something strange when looking at finances.

He claims to have found several checks forged by Laforge.

Those checks added up to more than $60,000.

When questioned, Laforge admitted to signing the owner's name on the checks but that she was going to pay him back.

She told them she did it all so she could play bingo.
