Man Assaults Police Officer in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One man is behind bars after assaulting an Odessa Police officer.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the Albertson's on East 42nd Street in reference to a check welfare.

Police received a report that a male subject was yelling and screaming at people and appeared to be high on drugs.

When officers arrived on the scene, they were able to identify the subject as Roy Geisendorff, 22.

As the officers were talking with Geisendorff, he became uncooperative and hit an officer twice in the face.

Geisendorff was later arrested following a brief struggle.

Geisendorff has been charged with assault on a public servant and resisting arrest.
