Ector County Escapee in Custody

Ector County Escapee in Custody

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The man who ran from the Ector County Courthouse on Wednesday morning is now in custody.

As you may recall, Adam Lloyd Cooper was in court appearing before Judge Trotter regarding two outstanding warrants for failure to appear and going off bond.

Following his sentencing, courthouse security escorted Cooper downstairs to the security office where he was handcuffed to a seat in the office.

However, Cooper somehow managed to slip out of the handcuffs and ran out of the office.

Cooper got away following a foot pursuit.

Then on Friday, Cooper was spotted by officers as a passenger in a pickup traveling in West Odessa.

We're told officers pulled the vehicle over in the area of University and Mockingbird and Cooper ran.

He was later caught in an abandoned trailer located behind a convenience store.

Cooper has been charged with evading arrest.
