Hobbs Woman Accused of Resisting, Attacking Police Officer

HOBBS, NM (KWES) -

A Hobbs woman is behind bars for attacking a police officer and resisting.

Police were called out to the 2000 block of East Clinton on Tuesday night.

When police arrived, they saw Diandra McKelvy bleeding from her forehead and standing on the top of the stairs outside of an apartment.

Another man was standing in the doorway.

She began to charge at the man and police held her back.

She was ordered to walk down the stairs.

She complied but when she got down the stairs, she began to pick up a knife from the ground.

Officers were able to get the knife away from her but she continued to swing her arms and kick the officer restraining her.

She's now facing multiple charges including assault and battery on a peace officer.
