Renovations Underway at Downtown Midland Library

The downtown Midland library is getting some fresh new upgrades.
New shelves are being added and the current ones are going to be expanded.

Officials say it is all being done to bring in new books.
This will help readers find books easily and will allow the library to put up the best sellers and classics up front instead of in the back.

But these aren't the only upgrades, the library plans to relocate the book drop box as well.
Edward Mcpherson, Education and Program Coordinator, said, "Right now, it's in the back of the building, and so, we're going to move it up to the front and that should be easier for patrons. It's also a little better lit so we're thinking it will enhance the safety."
The library also made upgrades last year.
They brought in new carpet and painted the walls.

We're told the new shelves should be completed by Monday.
