Wanted Man Arrested After Fleeing From Police

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - A wanted man is back behind bars after fleeing from police on Tuesday evening.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers saw a green Lincoln Navigator traveling southbound on JBS Parkway at a high rate of speed.

According to the report, the vehicle was going 62 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.

The officers activated their lights and siren in an effort to get the driver to stop but the driver continued to flee and ran the stop sign at Highway 80.

Officials say that's when the vehicle pulled into the Motel One parking lot and crashed into the back of a white Ford F-250.

But the story doesn't end there as the driver of the Navigator got out of the car and began running on foot through the parking lot.

The driver, later identified as Austin Soliz, 22, was caught on the east side of the motel.

An investigation revealed that Soliz had three outstanding warrants including a felony warrant out of San Antonio for motion to revoke.

Two people were inside of the F-250 but both people weren't injured.

Soliz is now behind bars at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
