Woman Admits to Identity Theft

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One woman is behind bars after admitting to identity theft charges.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, a male subject reported to police that his 66-year-old wife had been a victim of identity theft in the 2200 block of East 46th Street.

According to the report, an investigation determined that Angela Cook, 41, came into possession of the victim's personal information and opened a Target credit card in the victim's name.

All total, Cook used the Target credit card to purchase almost $3,000 worth of merchandise.

Back on June 26, Cook admitted to detectives that she used the victim's information to open the card and also admitted to making the purchases on the card.

Cook has been charged with fraudulent possession of identifying information of elderly.
