Second "Person of Interest" Arrested in Connection With Hobbs Murder

HOBBS, NM (KWES) -

A second “person of interest” has been arrested in connection with a June murder in Hobbs.

Hobbs Police tell NewsWest 9, Erika Martinez, 27, contacted the Lea County Drug Task Force to speak with law enforcement.

She was taken into custody on Monday afternoon in the 600 block of West Comanche.

Martinez has been charged with an open count of accessory to murder.

Three other people, David Coelho, 32, Joseph Dunnigan, 26, and Christopher Cardenas, 31, have already been arrested.

Cardenas was most recently arrested following a brief barricade situation in Seminole on Friday at the Best Western Plus Hotel.

Martinez is currently behind bars at the Hobbs City Jail awaiting to be taken to Lea County Detention Facility.
