Convicted Felon Back Behind Bars in Midland

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

A convicted felon is back behind bars in Midland on charges of stabbing his children's mother.

According to the affidavit, 29-year-old Issac Casias went to the woman's parents’ house where she was at.

He asked if they could get back together.

She said no and the report says that's when Casias asked her if she was ready to die.

The woman kicked Casias out.

Just minutes later, the report says he broke through a window and began stabbing her with a screwdriver.

Casias took off and officers began chasing him.

They brought out stop sticks, but when Casias saw them, he changed directions and tried to run over an officer.

Police say he also ended up hitting a few parked cars.

Once Casias got out of the car, police say he tried to fight them.

He was eventually arrested.

It turns out he was convicted before on charges of family violence.

There's no word on the woman's condition.

The officer that was almost hit had minor injuries.
