Congressman Mike Conaway visited CEMEX on Wednesday in Odessa.
CEMEX makes cement for the oil and gas industry and for commercial uses.
The plant has been in Odessa for quite a while now and Conway says it's been a big help to the oil business.
He said this isn't his first stop at the plant.
"I've been out here before to tour and meet folks but this is an opportunity. They got a lot of other community leaders here helping them understand what they do, what they don't do and by demystifying process, manufacturing, this kind of thing. It's just everybody wins with that. CEMEX has committed resources to make that happen. So, I wanted to be here to thank the employees for what they do and get another round/tour to see what they do,” said Conaway.
