Fifth Person Arrested in Connection With Odessa Bar Shooting

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

A fifth man has been arrested in connection to a murder case in Odessa.

30-year-old James Render is facing charges of aggravated assault.

Police say that Render, along with four other men, attacked 31-year-old Jevon Callaway right before he was gunned down.

According to the report, a fight broke out between Callaway and 25-year-old Anthony Hunt inside Brewskies Sports Bar.

The four other men jumped in and began attacking Callaway with their fists, bottles and pitchers.

Callaway stepped outside after the beating and police say that's when he was shot several times and later died.

Police say 25-year-old Roosevelt Brown is the man who pulled the trigger.

He went on the run but was caught by U.S. Marshals in Lubbock.

He's now facing first-degree murder charges.
