Big Spring Animal Control Officer Resigns

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) -

A Big Spring Animal Control Officer has resigned after several cats were left inside an Animal Control vehicle.

The Big Spring Police Department tells NewsWest 9, Michael Arista resigned on Monday.

As you may recall, an officer found the cats in the parked vehicle at the Law Enforcement Center on June 20.

According to the report, the officer contacted his supervisor and Animal Control were called out.

Officials say numerous cats were found within the unattended vehicle and four of the cats were found dead.

We're told the case has been submitted to the County Attorney's Office for prosecution purposes.
