City of Presidio Proposing Ordinance to Annex Land

PRESIDIO COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

More land could be on the way for Presidio.

The city is planning to annex 1,100 acres of land.

The whole purpose is to expand the city limits and bring in more tax revenue.

The proposed area covers Pueblo Nuevo, the current and former wastewater treatment plants, the back-up battery plant near Franco Middle School and the water wells.

But before the city can give the green light, they need to hear from the people first.

There will be two meetings in July. One meeting is scheduled for July 9 and the other on July 23 at the presidio activity center.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

If all goes well, the city will vote on this annexation ordinance in August.
