BROWN COUNTY, TX (KWES) - An Odessa family is mourning after their loved one was found dead hundreds of miles away.
Authorities found his body in Brown County, Texas.
Authorities were searching for Lance Easley since Friday.
It wasn't until Sunday morning that his body was discovered.
According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, the Brown County Lake Patrol got a report of a free floating boat with no one on board on Friday.
Officials later discovered it was Easley's boat.
A search was put out, which went into all of Saturday and into Sunday.
A DPS chopper and sonar were also used.
Officials finally found Easley's body Sunday morning, near the shore of Dominion Point.
"Because of this area being so big, there is no telling where he might've went in the water so we just kind of run a grid across the top of the water with our sonar," said Chief Troy Henderson with Brownwood Lake Patrol.
Officials say Easley owned a dock and lake house along Lake Brownwood and that's why he was in the area.
