BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - A Big Spring Animal Control Officer is on administrative leave after several cats were left inside an Animal Control vehicle.
The Big Spring Police Department tells NewsWest 9, the officer found the cats in the parked vehicle at the Law Enforcement Center on Saturday morning.
According to the report, the officer contacted his supervisor and Animal Control were called out.
We're told the vehicle belonged to Animal Control Officer Michael Arista.
Officials say numerous cats were found within the unattended vehicle and four of the cats were found dead.
An investigation has revealed that the cats were picked up by Arista within 24 hours of the vehicle being found.
