Midland Woman Killed in Early Morning Accident

MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A Midland woman has died following a fiery accident in Midland County on Monday morning.

The accident happened just before 1 a.m. on State Highway 349, just outside of the Midland city limits.

DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a big rig was stopped at a stop sign on West County Road 114 when the big rig driver, Alcaraz Arana, 31, of Enid, Oklahoma, failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and pulled into the intersection.

That's when a 2006 Jeep Liberty, driven by Kali Baze, hit the trailer of the big rig, causing the Liberty to burn as a result of the crash.

Baze was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arana wasn't injured in the accident.
