Man Arrested Following Shots Fired Call in Big Spring

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) -

One man has been arrested following a shots fired call in Big Spring.

Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they responded to the shots fired call in the 1500 block of Cherokee around 3:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found David Morales, 38, was shot in the arm.

Morales was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the report, witnesses said that a black Altima pulled in front of a residence and a verbal argument between Morales and the driver of the Altima, later identified as Johnny Rodriguez, 22.

Witnesses reported that Rodriguez fired approximately three rounds in the direction of Rodriguez and sped away from the scene.

Officers later found Rodriguez at his home and was taken into custody on a warrant for failing to pay child support.

Detectives later found a .22 caliber revolver, which is believed to be the firearm used in the shooting.

Rodriguez was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
