Robbers Take Off With $12,000 Worth of Clothing

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland Police Department is on the lookout for some fashionable thieves. They stole $12,000 worth of merchandise from the DXL Men's Apparel store in Midland. It happened just one week ago.

Employees were closing up the store. Then about 15 minutes later, some unexpected visitors did some after hour shopping. Authorities believe these thieves had a plan. They pulled right up to the store and used a rock to smash a front display window and get inside.

"Were thinking they probably went in there beforehand so we're reviewing surveillance video from before," said Sgt. Jimmy Young of the Midland Police Department.

Once they made their way in, they seem to have already picked out a particular area of clothing.

"They knew what they wanted so it was kind of like in and out. I mean if you watch the video it took less than a minute," said Young.

They headed straight for a table and some shelves that had Polo brand products.

"Those two guys got a couple of buckets, big 'ol buckets and just started loading them up full of stuff," said Young.

That stuff, was worth $12,000. If you have any information call Midland Crimestoppers at 694-TIPS. You will remain anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest you could land yourself a $1,000 cash reward.

"Turn those people in. That's what we want. We just want the bad guys caught and somebody knows. Somebody is out there that knows," said Young.
