Midland Aggravated Robbery Suspect Arrested

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

An aggravated robbery suspect was arrested by Midland Police.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, the aggravated robbery happened Wednesday afternoon at the Albertson's located in the 3300 block of North Midland Drive.

According to the report, the suspect, later identified as Jared Denton, 34, walked into the store around 4:45 p.m. and gave a note to an employee at the pharmacy that threatened the safety of employees and others in the store if they didn't give him narcotics.

We're told the suspect also lifted his shirt to shot a gun.

Police say the clerk then went to the back and upon the clerk returned, the suspect left.

Midland Crimestoppers received a tip that identified Denton as the suspect. He was located at his home and confessed while being interviewed by detectives.

Denton has been charged with aggravated robbery.
