47-year-old Sony Paul Aranda

Odessa Police arrested Aranda on 6-8-15 at approximately 2011 hours for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 2400 block of Beaty in reference to a major crash. Investigation revealed that a red 2000 Ford Mustang had struck a white Nissan Frontier.

The driver of the Ford Mustang, identified as Aranda, was observed to have a bag of synthetic marijuana in his left hand. Aranda was passed out inside the Mustang with the vehicle still in drive. The Mustang was put into park and the keys were taken out of the ignition.

Aranda was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests. Dispatch advised Aranda had multiple prior convictions for driving while intoxicated, enhancing the charge to a third degree felony. Aranda was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.

43-year-old Antonio Enrique Castillo

Odessa Police arrested Castillo on 6-9-15 at approximately 1604 hours for Online Solicitation of a Minor, a 2nd Degree Felony. Officers responded to assist detectives with a wanted subject in the 3000 block of Eastover. Upon arrival, officers made contact with detectives, who had a male subject detained.

The male subject was identified as Castillo. Dispatch advised Castillo had a felony warrant out of Dallas County for online solicitation of a minor. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Castillo was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.

31-year-old Evelyn Edith Parra

Odessa Police arrested Parra on 6-9-15 at approximately 2150 hours for Theft of Property with at Least two Prior Convictions “State Jail Felony”, Criminal Trespass “Class B Misdemeanor”, and Theft (Warrant) “Class B Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to 4101 East 42nd Street (Dillards) in reference to shoplifter.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Dillards personnel, who advised they observed a male subject and female subject, carrying an infant, walk into the store together. The male subject took a $350 bedding comforter and both subjects exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the comforter.

Music City Mall security chased both subjects and caught the female suspect, identified as Parra. The male suspect got away and fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Tahoe. Investigation revealed Parra had multiple prior theft convictions out of Ector County and she also had a theft warrant out for her arrest.

Further investigation revealed that Parra had previously been criminally trespassed from Music City Mall. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Parra was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. The investigation continues.

48-year-old David Juan Acosta

Odessa Police arrested Acosta on 6-9-15 at approximately 2043 hours for Possession of Methamphetamine, a State Jail Felony. Officers responded to the 2700 block of Perryville in reference to a suspicious subject. Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject matching the suspect's description.

The subject was identified as Acosta. Officers searched Acosta and discovered two glass pipes and a bag of methamphetamine in his left pocket. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Acosta was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.

29-year-old Jonathan Cantu

Odessa Police arrested Cantu on 6-9-15 at approximately 1157 hours for Possession of Cocaine “State Jail Felony” and a Revoke Probation Warrant out of Bexar County. Officers responded to 4100 Tanglewood in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with one of the involved parties, identified as Cantu.

Dispatch advised Cantu had a felony warrant out of Bexar County for revoking his probation and he was placed into custody for the warrant. Officers searched Cantu and discovered a bag of cocaine in his right pocket. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Cantu was charged and arrested accordingly.

34-year-old Joseph Tapia

Odessa Police arrested Tapia on 6-9-15 at approximately 1645 hours for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle – Failure to Appear (Warrant), a State Jail Felony. Officers responded to the 100 block of Old Course Road in reference to a wanted subject. Upon arrival, officers located a subject matching the suspect's description.

The suspect was identified as Tapia. Dispatch advised Tapia was wanted out of Midland County for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle – failure to appear. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Tapia was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.

53-year-old Roberto Sandate

Odessa Police arrested Sandate on 6-10-15 at approximately 0320 hours for Assault Family Violence with a Prior Conviction, a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Alleghaney in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers had responded to the residence earlier in reference to a 53-year-old assault victim.

The actor, identified as Sandate, had returned to the scene and was causing a disturbance. A 53-year-old female advised officers that Sandate had pushed her several times. Due to the previous assault report being made and Sandate assaulting her again, Sandate was placed into custody for assault family violence.

Investigation revealed that Sandate had a previous conviction for assault family violence back in 2009, enhancing the charge to a third degree felony. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Sandate was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
