ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - An investigation is underway following an incident in Odessa on Tuesday afternoon/evening.
The Ector County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9, two suspects walked into Israel Service Mechanic Shop, located at 1510 North FM 1936, to use the bathroom, around 1 p.m.
According to the report, as the suspects were leaving the business, they stole a vehicle from the mechanic shop.
We're told the owners of the body shop didn't contact authorities to report the stolen vehicle.
Around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, the owners of the shop saw the stolen vehicle pass by the body shop and they began to follow the vehicle in their own vehicle.
During the chase, they came head to head with one another and the suspect fired shots at them, hitting one person two times.
The victim, Jaime Franco, 33, was taken to Medical Center Hospital with shotgun wounds to his left upper neck and left cheek. He's currently listed in serious condition.
Officials say the two suspects are described as white males. The passenger of the stolen vehicle was described as wearing a tank top shirt, long shoulder length hair, partially pulled back in a ponytail and had tattoos on both arms.
No additional description was available for the other suspect.
The stolen vehicle was later found in a pasture in the area of Pluto, just west of Northstar in Ector County.
