Former Ector County Youth Center Employee Indicted

ECTOR COUNTY - A former Ector County Youth Center employee has been indicted on sexual assault charges.

26-year-old Amber Mendoza is accused of having sex with an inmate at the center.

According to the arrest report, last August; she had sex with a 16-year-old inmate while he was on a weekend furlough.

It says Mendoza met up with the teen at his mom's RV in West Odessa.

That's where to two had sex in the kitchen.

The report says the teen told other inmates what happened and that Mendoza confessed to deputies they had sex.

She also admitted to letting inmates use her cell phone.

If convicted of both charges, she could spend up to 30 years behind bars.
