HOBBS, N.M. – One person is on the run and another person was arrested in connection with a weekend armed robbery in Hobbs.
Hobbs Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the Dollar General on East Bender Friday night in reference to an armed robbery.
An investigation determined that two masked subjects, wearing all black and gloves, arrived at the store at closing time. One subject had a pistol and forced an employee to open the safe.
Both subjects fled the scene with approximately $3,000 and fled the store in a silver Dodge pickup.
According to the report, investigators later learned that an employee at Dollar General, Nuvia Valenzuela, 27, was dating Anthony Quiroz, 26.
We're told on prior occasions she had been seen being picked up from work in a silver Dodge pickup driven by Quiroz, similar to the one used in the robbery.
Valenzuela admitted to police that she was involved in the robbery, along with Quiroz.
Valenzuela was arrested on Monday for an outstanding warrant, charging her with conspiracy to commit robbery.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for Quiroz for charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and felon in possession of a firearm.
Quiroz is currently on the run, along with the second masked subject, who hasn't been identified yet.
