ODESSA - The University of Texas of the Permian Basin has named a new dean.
Michael Zavada has been named the new Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UTPB.
He succeeds Mylan Redfern after a nationwide search.
UTPB's Provost praised his experience coming from major universities and his celebrated research record.
Zavada received his B.S. and M.S. from Arizona State University in Botany and Palynology, a B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literature and a PhD in Ecology Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut.
He will begin as dean on June 30.
