MIDLAND - A man got locked up in Midland for leading police on a chase then threatening to harm their families.

27-year-old Travis Ross has been hit with charges of evading and retaliation.

It all started on Sunday afternoon when an officer spotted Ross at the intersection of Wadley and Lamesa Road.

According to the affidavit, he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

When police tried to pull him over, Ross took off on Wadley and led them on a brief chase.

He pulled over into a parking lot a short time later and officers put him in cuffs.

Ross told them he didn't stop at first because he had done nothing wrong and was late for work.

He became aggressive with officers as they placed him in the vehicle and he had to be pepper sprayed on the way to the jail.

That's when he threatened to kill or injure family members of the officers.
