Man Accused of Punching His Girlfriend in Odessa

One man is behind bars following a weekend disturbance in Odessa. Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 1000 block of North Dixie (7-11) on Saturday in reference to an assault victim and dispatch reported that a while female was assaulted by her boyfriend.

ODESSA – One man is behind bars following a weekend disturbance in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 1000 block of North Dixie (7-11) on Saturday in reference to an assault victim and dispatch reported that a while female was assaulted by her boyfriend.

When officers arrived, employees at 7-11 reported that the victim had left the scene but officers later noticed a possible disturbance in the 1500 block of Beverly.

Officers made contact with a 29-year-old female, who was the same female who had left 7-11, and her boyfriend, identified as Clayton Perry, 29.

An investigation revealed that after Perry got into an argument with his girlfriend, he got on top of her and slammed her to the floor.

According to the report, Perry then punched his girlfriend on the side of the head and held her down while shoving his chin into her face. Perry also placed his arm around her until she couldn't breathe.

The victim told police that's when she fled the scene and ran to the 7-11 to call police.
