Woman Facing Aggravated Assault Charges

ODESSA – One woman is behind bars on aggravated assault charges.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called to the 4600 block of Constitution in reference to a domestic disturbance on Friday afternoon.

When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with a 39-year-old male and his wife, identified as Ladina Batte-Neal, 36.

An investigation revealed that after both people got into an argument, Batte-Neal threw a shampoo bottle at her husband, hitting him in the upper lip.

According to the report, that's when Batte-Neal hit the man with a wet rag before charging at him with a golf club.

Batte-Neal was taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (assault-family violence).

Also, as Batte-Neal was talking with officers, they saw a glass pipe sticking out of her back left pocket. Officers also found two bags of methamphetamine in her purse and she was also charged with possession of methamphetamine.
