Press Release from the Office of Rep. Tom Craddick:
Today, the Texas House gave final approval to Senate Bill 2041 by bill sponsor Rep. Tom Craddick (R-Midland) and bill author Senator Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo) to designate the Sergeant Michael Naylor Memorial Highway.
"Sergeant Naylor's tragic death was painfully felt in the Midland Sheriff's office and throughout our community," Craddick said. "Honoring Sergeant Naylor with this highway designation is fitting for a man who served our nation with distinction in the Air Force and served our community with excellence."
As passed by the Senate and the House, Senate Bill 2041, will require the Texas Department of Transportation, subject to a grant or donation of funds, to design, construct and erect markers designating a portion of SH191 in Midland County as the Sergeant Michael Naylor Memorial Highway.
On October 9, 2014, Sergeant Mike Naylor was shot and killed as he and other deputies served a warrant on a child sexual predator.
