ODESSA – One woman is facing several charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers saw a tan 1997 Toyota Camry run a red light at Dixie and 31st Street.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Anabella Salas, 29.
According to the report, officers noticed two children, a one year old male and a six year old female in the backseat of the vehicle.
We're told while officers were talking with Salas, they could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Salas' breath.
Salas was later taken into custody for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger after failing field sobriety tests.
Officials also reported that while at the jail, Salas was found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana.
Child Protective Services was notified and the children were released to family.
Salas is facing charges of driving with intoxicated with a child passenger, prohibited substance in a correctional facility and for five outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
