HOBBS, N.M. – A Hobbs man has been arrested on 20 total counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The Hobbs Police Department tells NewsWest 9, Mark Laster, 38, was arrested on Wednesday for two counts of sexual exploitation of children-manufacturing and 18 counts of sexual exploitation of children-distribution.
We're told the arrest stems from a joint investigation between the New Mexico Attorney General's Office and the Hobbs Police Department.
The investigation determined that Laster was downloading and viewing child pornography.
A search warrant was also executed on Laster's home in the 1200 block of East Michigan where officials seized a laptop computer and compact discs containing child pornography.
Laster is currently behind bars on a $280,000 bond.
