REEVES COUNTY – A San Antonio man is dead and another woman was injured following an accident in Reeves County on Wednesday.
The accident happened just before 1:30 p.m. on Interstate 10, about 3 miles northeast of Balmorhea.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a 1999 Mercury Sable was traveling west on Interstate 10 when the driver saw an animal in the roadway then steered left.
That caused the vehicle to travel into the center median and the driver drove right to get back on the road.
The vehicle then crossed the roadway and into a barrow ditch. The driver took evasive action to the right causing the vehicle to go into a side skid and the vehicle rolled.
The driver of the vehicle, Tuvia Adar, 86, of San Antonio, Texas, was pronounced dead at Reeves County Hospital.
