MIDLAND - It was a special day for the United Way of Midland.
The non-profit held their Annual Celebration and Awards Luncheon.
Leaders announced they raised $3.56 million in their campaign last year.
The money will go toward three areas of the organization's focus, health, self-sufficiency and education.
"We'll give a little over a million, almost a million dollars to health initiatives and health resources and partner agencies that are helping in the health side of things. We'll be giving a little over half a million dollars in education and about a million dollars in the self-sufficiency side of what we do with families," said Mark Alexander, Executive Director of the United Way of Midland.
We're told the money donated last year is the most they've ever raised.
