ODESSA - The first rule of breaking in to a building is to not do it. However if there was a second rule, it would be to keep your voices down. Two guys broke in to the Town and Country Drug last month, who just so happens to have fancy cameras that record sound. "You can actually hear the glass as it breaks--sounds like a bomb going off in there--and you see it come down," Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers said. "Then you see the two suspects, which are black males, push through the door, or push through the glass panel and get in there."
The suspect in the tan outfit seems to be teaching the other one the trick of the trade as the two can be heard arguing about how hard to throw the brick through the door.
Eventually the two push their way in and the first suspect is seen carrying a black duffle bag while his accomplice decides to bring in a trash can. The two spend a little while in the back making a mess, stealing hydrocodone pills and Adderall. So if nothing else, at least they're focused.
"The one thing we've got going for us is when they got back to the front to go out the door, they start talking to each other. We want people to listen to that and see if they recognize their voice," Rogers said.
We then see the two bolting out the door where we finally get a glimpse of their style. Unfortunately the camouflage hoodie isn't keeping him hidden, especially with a giant lime green marijuana leaf on it.
"You can't see his face but you may recognize that shirt, may recognize the voices that are going with this so take a close look at that," Rogers said. "This is obviously something that this person probably wears or has worn before and we'd like you to call us and give us that information."
So just remember, if you ever break in to a pharmacy, all of West Texas might be eavesdropping on you.
