Odessa Police Department Press Release
32-year-old John Daniel Lopez
Odessa Police arrested Lopez on 5-10-15 for Possession of Methamphetamine, a State Jail Felony. Officers observed a silver 2014 Dodge Ram traveling 57 mph in a 30 mph residential zone, in the 400 block of Carolyn Drive. A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the driver was identified as Lopez.
Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered a clear plastic bag and a folded $10 bill inside the center console, which both contained methamphetamine. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Lopez was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
22-year-old Christina Marie Trevino
Odessa Police arrested Trevino on 5-9-15 for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (Warrant) "State Jail Felony" and Driving While Intoxicated "Class B Misdemeanor". Officers observed an orange 2010 Chevrolet Camaro traveling eastbound in the 4200 block of East 42nd Street before striking a pole.
Officers made contact with the driver of the listed vehicle, identified as Trevino. While making contact with Trevino, officers could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her. Investigation revealed Trevino had a felony warrant out of Crane County for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Officers attempted several times to administer field sobriety tests but Trevino was uncooperative and shouted profanities at them. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Trevino was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
55-year-old Gloria Young
Odessa Police arrested Young on 5-10-15 at approximately 1752 hours for Theft of Property with at Least two Prior Convictions "State Jail Felony", False Identification – Fugitive from Justice "Class A Misdemeanor, and for a parole violation warrant. Officers responded to 2450 NW Loop 338 (Wal-Mart West) in reference to a shoplifter.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Wal-Mart personnel, who advised they observed a female subject concealing household items inside of empty Wal-Mart bags. Wal-Mart personnel further advised they observed the female subject exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.
Officers made contact with the suspect, who gave a false name and date of birth. Investigation revealed that the suspect's real name was Gloria Young. Further investigation revealed that Young had a parole violation warrant for possession of cocaine along with multiple prior convictions for theft of property.
Young advised officers that she stole the merchandise to sell it on the streets for crack cocaine. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Young was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC. All of the stolen merchandise, valued at approximately $430, was returned to Wal-Mart.
25-year-old Tabatha Kay Ybarra
Odessa Police arrested Ybarra on 5-11-15 at approximately 0823 hours for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver – Motion to Revoke Probation (Warrant) "1st Degree Felony", Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon "Class A Misdemeanor", and for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
Officers observed a silver 2014 Kia Forte traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, in the 600 block of South Grant. A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle in the 100 block of Schell and the driver was identified as Ybarra. Investigation revealed that Ybarra had a felony narcotic warrant for motion to revoke probation.
Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered a black expandable metal baton, which was similar to a police ASP baton. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Ybarra was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
40-year-old Ludwig Charles Mikula
Odessa Police arrested Mikula on 5-12-15 at approximately 0211 hours for a felony parole violation warrant. While patrolling the area of Grandview and Penbrook, officers observed a bicycle traveling northbound in the roadway without any lights on. A subject stop was conducted and the subject was identified as Mikula.
Dispatch advised Mikula had a third degree felony parole violation warrant out of Austin. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Mikula was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
32-year-old Elizabeth Winn
Odessa Police arrested Winn on 5-11-15 at approximately 1137 hours for two counts of Forgery by Passing, a State Jail Felony. Officers responded to the 8600 block of Dublin in reference to an attempt to locate. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female subject matching the description of a wanted felon.
