STANTON – An Abilene man is dead and a El Paso man was injured following a fiery accident in Stanton on Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened on Interstate 20 near mile marker 156 around 4 p.m.
Officials tell NewsWest 9, a pickup truck was traveling east on Interstate 20, veered off the roadway, crossed the center median and collided head-on with a semi-trailer traveling westbound.
The pickup driver, James Ray Alexander, 32, of Abilene, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver, Alfredo Varela, 23, of El Paso, Texas, was taken to Martin County Hospital with unknown injuries.
