HOBBS, N.M. - Charges have been dropped against a man involved in an officer involved shooting.
According to Hobbs court, Kyle Laughrin's case has been dismissed and refiled.
Laughrin was arrested in February in connection to the shooting and originally charged with aggravated assault upon peace officer and negligent use of a deadly weapon.
Back on January 17, Hobbs Police were called to Diamond's Lil's bar where Laughrin and Nathan Trujillo wrestling over a rifle in the parking lot.
The officer told both men to drop the gun.
They didn't and that's when the rifle was pointed at the officer and that's when the officer shot both men.
