AUSTIN - A bill that would ban texting and driving statewide will be heard by the Texas Senate.
A committee will hear House Bill 80 on Thursday morning.
Representative Tom Craddick and Senator Judith Zaffirini will be there along with supporters of the bill.
The bill is also known as the Alex Brown Memorial Act.
Alex Brown lost her lift in a texting while driving crash as she drove to school during her senior year of high school.
House Bill 80 passed the State House of Representatives back in March.
