Weekend Felony Arrests by the Odessa Police Department - May 4, 2015

25-year-old David Dearick

Odessa Police arrested Dearick on 5-1-15 at approximately 1942 hours for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle "State Jail Felony" and a warrant for violation to appear. While in the 2600 block of West 10th Street, officers observed a male subject walking westbound who matched the description of a wanted felon.

A subject stop was conducted and the suspect was identified as Dearick. Dispatch advised Dearick had two felony warrants out for his arrest, including one felony warrant. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Dearick was charged and arrested accordingly.

40-year-old Jason Grady

Odessa Police arrested Grady on 5-1-15 at approximately 0032 hours for Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony" and for six outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Officers observed a blue 2004 Chrysler Conforce traveling westbound in the 2800 block of East University with an expired registration.

A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the driver was identified as Grady. Investigation revealed Grady had six outstanding warrants out for his arrest. Officers searched Grady and discovered a bag of cocaine in his front right pocket. Grady was charged and arrested accordingly.

26-year-old Oscar Preito-Aguilar

Odessa Police arrested Preito-Aguilar on 5-1-15 at approximately 2029 hours for Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony" and a warrant for failure to appear. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Dodge Ram in the 400 block of Snyder and the driver was identified as Preito-Aguilar.

Officers searched Preito-Aguilar and discovered a bag of cocaine in his front right pocket. Investigation revealed Preito-Aguilar also had an outstanding warrant. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Preito-Aguilar was charged and arrested accordingly.

48-year-old Johnny Calderon

Odessa Police arrested Calderon on 5-2-15 at approximately 2332 hours for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a white 2014 Dodge Ram in the 700 block of North Grant and the driver was identified as Johnny Calderon.

While making contact with Calderon, officers could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him. Calderon was placed into custody for driving while intoxicated after failing field sobriety tests. Investigation revealed Calderon had multiple prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. Calderon was charged and arrested accordingly.

32-year-old Bradley Hughes

Odessa Police arrested Hughes on 5-1-15 at approximately 1116 hours for a Felony 3 Parole Violation warrant and for a misdemeanor warrant. Officers responded to the 900 block of West 30th Street to contact detectives in reference to a wanted felon. Upon arrival, officers made contact with detectives, who had a male subject detained.

The suspect was identified as Hughes. Investigation revealed Hughes had two outstanding warrants, including a felony probation violation warrant out of Navajo County, Arizona for Transport of Marijuana. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Hughes was charged and arrested accordingly.

27-year-old Edgar Esquivel

Odessa Police arrested Esquivel on 5-2-15 at approximately 1208 hours for a felony probation violation warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Officers observed a gray 2005 Chevrolet Malibu traveling northbound in the 3500 block of North Dixie with an expired registration.

A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the passenger was identified as Esquivel. Investigation revealed Esquivel had a felony probation violation warrant for possession of a controlled substance. Esquivel was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
