STANTON - This is a fun way to help local law enforcement fight crime.
The second annual “Bustin' For Badges” event was held on Friday.
The clay shoot tournament raises funds for the Midland and Odessa Police Departments and the Midland and Ector County Sheriff's Offices.
The money will be used to buying things like bullet proof vests and training equipment.
But officers and deputies aren't the only ones benefiting.
"Most of our contacts are negative because people's calling us in reference to a disturbance, traffic stops or something like that. But this is just a great opportunity. People get to meet us one on one and we get to thank them for what they do for the community," said Jimmy Young with Midland Police.
There's no word on how much money each agency received this year.
Last year, each law enforcement agency received a check for $32,000.
