Odessa Police Department Press Release
59-year-old Chauncey Cox
Odessa Police arrested Cox on 4-28-15 at approximately 2000 hours for Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony" and for a parole violation warrant. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet Lumina in the 300 block of South Grant and the driver was identified as Cox.
Officers observed Cox clasping an unknown object in his right hand. When officers asked Cox what was in his right hand, he replied by stating "a little cocaine". Investigation revealed Cox had a parole violation warrant for robbery. Cox was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
44-year-old Cesar Fabela Fuentez
Odessa Police arrested Fuentez on 4-29-15 at approximately 0222 hours for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd – Failure to Appear (Warrant), a 3rd Degree Felony. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a red Jeep Wrangler in the 600 block of Roxana and the driver was identified as Fuentez.
Investigation revealed Fuentez had an outstanding felony warrant for driving while intoxicated – failure to appear. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Fuentez was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
35-year-old Destiny Chambless
Odessa Police arrested Chambless on 4-29-15 at approximately 2320 hours for Possession of Methamphetamine "State Jail Felony", Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony", Possession of Marijuana "Class B Misdemeanor", Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for Use (Warrant) "Class C Misdemeanor", and for a failure to appear warrant.
Officers responded to 5th and Allred in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with one of the involved parties, identified as Chambless. While making contact with Chambless, officers observed a bag of marijuana sticking out of her clothing in plain view.
Officers searched Chambless and discovered a bag of methamphetamine and a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Chambless was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the ECLEC.
While at the jail, officers discovered a bag of cocaine inside her purse. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Chambless was additionally charged with possession of cocaine. The cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana were all turned into criminalistics as evidence.
32-year-old Justin Bell
Odessa Police arrested Bell on 4-29-15 at approximately 1800 hours for Forgery of a Check, a State Jail Felony. Officers responded to 2804 Andrews Highway (Kwik Kash) in reference to a forgery in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Kwik Kash personnel, who had advised the suspect had just left the scene and was last seen northbound on Andrews Highway.
