HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs man is accused of hitting his own son.
On top of that, police say he told the boy to lie about it.
According to the criminal complaint, 34-year-old Brandon Chidester slapped his son in the face because he didn't want to color Easter eggs.
That caused the little boy's face to turn red and have welt marks.
The report says Chidester told the boy to lie about what happened and that he got in a fight with a teenager at the park.
The child's mother told officers she believed Chidester slapped the boy because of past domestic violence between them.
